Formats of the Master of Health Professions Education Program at UIC

A highly educated and experienced health professional, Minto Jain currently serves as a principal at Medical Imaging Centres, Inc., in Mississauga, Canada. In addition to holding advanced degrees from several other universities, including the University of Ottawa, Minto Jain is a graduate of the master of health professions education (MPHE) program at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The MPHE program at the University of Illinois at Chicago provides students with the abilities and skills to be leaders in the health education field and addresses the need for skilled professionals in the field of health care management and delivery. Goals of the program include providing students with a foundation in educational theory and practice, producing effective leaders for healthcare organizations, and producing scholars in the field of healthcare education.

The MPHE program provides two avenues toward a degree: an online format and an on-campus intensive format. The semester-based online format consists of weekly web-based modules as well as face-to-face sessions over the summer. Alternatively, the on-campus format consists of intensive all-day sessions for two to three weeks, culminating with a final project that is completed off campus.
